Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show 2009

The Sisters Quilt Show is the largest outdoor quilt show in North America if not the world. The internationally recoginized event brings together quilters from all over the world in a week of classes, demonstrations and lectures culminating in the big Saturday where over a thousand quilts are hung all throughout the City of Sisters Oregon. This grand celebration was conceived by renowned quilting author and teacher Jean Wells-Keenan and is also run by her daughter, Valorie Wells-Kennedy and super-organizer Ann Richardson. Special attractions this year were quilts and quilters from Gee's Bend Alabama and quilts made by villagers in Kapchorwa Uganda and brought to Sisters as part of a special project by local quilt meister Janet Storton.
